The Department of Public Affairs is led by Pete McDonough Jr. who also oversees the offices of State and Federal Relations. The Office of State Relations concentrates on communicating the university's policy positions to the
Office of the Governor and his cabinet as well as the state
legislature. The Office of Federal Relations works with the New Jersey congressional delegation and the national
associations of higher education—especially the Association of American
Universities (AAU) and the National Association.
